The HLOCF Silent Auction was once again a huge success.  This year the HLOCF gave a total of $4,428 in grants back to the community.  Recipients of these grants were: Charon Doyscher, SSC Special Education Department, received $325 for stability balls for the Special Education room. Catherine Bushard, who represented the Heron Lake Library, received a grant for $1, 500 for landscaping around the new addition. Connie DeWall received a grant of $1,200 for new park equipment for the city of Okabena. Jason Fisher was awarded a grant for the amount of $1,200 for the SSC Wellness Center for new equipment. Tracy Freking, SSC Cheerleader Coach, received a grant for $203 for new cheerleading uniforms.
