*Population as of March 2003: 185

*Annual Festival: Annual 4^th of July Celebration. The activities are sponsored by the Community     Club.

*Schools: Southwest Star Concept Schools (Heron Lake-Okabena School District #330).  The Southwest Star Concept Elementary is located in Heron Lake, MN.  The Southwest Star Concept High School is located in Okabena, MN.  Superintendent: Becky Cselovszki.

*Changes in the Community: Replaced water mains following $85,000 grant/loan  package received in 2001.

*The city celebrated their 125^th Birthday in July of 2004.

*Current Okabena City Council Members are: David Brunk, Connie DeWall, Mike Hussong and John Gabriel;  City Clerk: Janet Kruger; Mayor: James E. Schneider.
